Hamdullah Emin Paşa
Hamdullah Emin Paşa was born in 1852 and studied law in Egypt, and pursued his law and economics education in Switzerland and in London.
In 1923 he had a school built in the village he was born.
“Hamdullah Emin Pasha and his wife Hatice Tahire Hanım” education foundation was established in 1932 to be able to provide accommodation for the kids from nearby villages studying in that school.
Hamdullah Emin Pasha donated all his property that included land and tenements to the foundation in order to be used after his death.
The foundation became active in 1968 and some changes were made in the commitments of the foundation in 1995. Since then it has been giving scholarships, building libraries, language labs, sport complexes, dormitories as well as colleges for higher education.
The foundation applied for the opening of Alanya Hamdullah Emin Pasa University in 2009. The university law was accepted in the Turkish National Assembly in 2011.
Following that, the negotiations for the building started and the foundations were laid in 2011 November, in January 2014 the building became ready for use of the administrative and teaching staff.
