VISIT TO AHEP BY LATVIA
Ambassador of Latvia Mr. Peteris Karlis Elferts, President of Alanya Tourism Association (ALTİD) Burhan Sili, President of Latvian Hotel and Restaurants Association Janis Pinnis, Latvian Hotel and Restaurants Association Executive Director Santa Graikste and Ventspils Tehnikums University representatives visited Alanya HEP University on June 26, 2018. Rector of Alanya HEP University Prof. Dr. Mehmet Durdu Öner, Secretary General of Alanya HEP University and Head of Communication Design and Management Department Ass. Prof. Dr. Murat Ertan Doğan, Head of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department Ass. Prof. Dr. Zelal Polat, Head of Tourism Management Department Ass. Prof. Dr. Nihan Sidar and International Relations Office staff held a meeting with Latvian Hotel and Restaurants Association and Ventspils Tehnikums University representatives on the exchange of knowledge, experience and student and staff mobility opportunities.
With the meeting, the first steps were taken in cooperation between Alanya Hamdullah Emin Paşa University and Ventspils Tehnikums University. After the meeting where the ideas of increasing the practical training of the university students and the improvement of the sector-university collaborations were shared, the guests from Latvia visited the kitchens and laboratory of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts of Alanya HEP University. The guests, who are highly influenced by the advanced technology and equipment of our laboratory, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries during the visit.
