Meaningful Support for Young People from Alanya University: "Combating Addiction" Conference Held
Alanya University organized an “Anti-Addiction Conference” for young people to step into a healthy future within the scope of the “Science Cafe” activities supported by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
The conference held on March 2, 2026 at Alanya Mehmet Arif Türktaş Anatolian High School was attended by Dr. from the Nursing Department at Alanya University. Teach Member Pelin Uymaz participated as a speaker. The event, which attracted great interest from students, discussed individual and societal approaches to combating addiction from a scientific perspective.
Rector Prof. Dr. Turan SAĞER: "A Conscious Life is the Foundation of a Strong Society"
The fact that the conference coincided with Green Crescent Week, which is celebrated between 1-7 March, increased the importance of the event. Making evaluations regarding the issue, Alanya University Rector Prof. Dr. Turan SAĞER drew attention to the importance of a life away from addictions. SAĞER included the following statements in his statement:
"A healthy and conscious life, free from addictions, is the most important foundation of a strong society." The valuable work carried out by Yeşilay in this field creates great hope and awareness, especially for our youth. Through our Science Cafe project, we are delighted to bring this awareness to the field and connect it with our young people.”
Alanya University continues to provide scientific knowledge to all segments of society and support regional development through Science Cafe events and social responsibility projects.
